Ohridska Banka AD Skopje : awarded with certificate for commitment in financing sustainable energy projects

On a formal ceremony held in Zagreb, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) awarded Ohridska Banka, Societe Generale Group (OBSG) with a certificate of commitment in financing sustainable energy projects. The projects are financed through the WeBSEFF credit line (Western Balkans Sustainable Energy Financing Facility) developed by EBRD, which is available through local investment banks thatpromotesustainableuseofenergy.

OBSG was the first Macedonian bank that gave assets for financing energetic efficiency and sustainable energy projects, after signing the WeBSEFF 1 Agreement with EBRD in 2010. The collaboration continued after signing of the WeBSEFF 2 agreement in 2013. During the last period, OBSG helped in the realization of numerous projectsfrom this type.

The project of the company Kiro Dandaro from Bitola, which was financed by Ohridska Banka, Societe Generale Group through the WeBSEFF credit line, got an award in the category Improving the Energetic Efficiency in the Manufacturing Processforbetterenvironmentprotection.

The increase of natural resources demand, the urbanization and the importance of the environment contribute to the increasing need to invest in the energetic efficiency and the sustainable energy. The energetic efficiency and the sustainable energy provide enormous economic and ecologic benefits, which is why there is unlimited potential for this kind of projects.
