Oplink to Showcase Multicast Switch at OFC/NFOEC 2013 Oplink's Multicast Switch Enables Multi-Degree CDC ROADM Applications

FREMONT, Calif., March 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Oplink Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:OPLK), a leading provider of photonic telecommunications components, intelligent modules and subsystem solutions, today announced that it will be demonstrating its multicast switch at OFC/NFOEC 2013. This demonstration highlights Oplink's commitment to continually innovate flexible and cost effective solutions for the next-generation optical networks.
A live demo of the twin NxM multicast switch will showcase contention-less Add/Drop capability. Together withOplink's advanced solution suite that includes the multi-port flex-grid OCM, amplifier/amplifier array, wavelength-selective switch, and design and integrated solution services at the circuit pack level, the twin multicast switch addresses the growing multi-degree CDC ROADM applications. It offers several configurations of 4x16, 8x16 and 12x16 with superior performances on loss, crosstalk and power consumption. The flexible architecture is good for customized configurations; its thin, compact package further enables the 1-slot circuit pack design for space challenging high density systems.
In addition, Oplink will have on display highlighted products from its broad portfolio of optical products, including its latest WSS, amplifiers, passive devices and transceivers. Visit Oplink at OFC/NFOEC 2013, March 19-21, at the Anaheim Convention Center, Booth #2901.
