Officially, 'Mobinil' is now 'Orange Egypt for Telecommunications' And Eng. Atef Helmy appointed as Chairman of the company

The Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (formerly Mobinil) is pleased to announce that the Extraordinary General Assembly held on March 20th approved the name change of the company to become Orange Egypt for Telecommunications (SAE).

The General Assembly that took place on the same day had approved the appointment of Eng. Atef Helmy as the Chairman of the board. Eng. Atef Helmy, the former CIT Minister, has over 30 years of experience in the field of CIT where he had participated in the senior executive positions of Multinational companies like AT&T, Oracle and NCR in the regions of Middle East, North Africa and the USA. In his professional life, Eng. Atef Helmy held many board positions in institutes, faculties and NGOs focusing on the development of the ICT sector in Egypt.

In this occasion, Mr. Yves Gauthier , CEO of Orange Egypt , had announced that the appointment of Dr. Atef Helmy as Chairman at this critical time of the company's journey with the brand Orange only reflects Orange Group's trust in Egypt and the Egyptian people. Yves Gauthier also added that with his strong experience in the Telecommunications and IT sector, Dr. Atef Helmy is a real benefit for Orange Egypt and its Board of Directors.'
