Rana Abbadi, Board Member in the Chamber of the Information Technology Industry Management Council

The Minister of Trade and Industry Eng. Tarek Qabil has selected Rana Abbadi, Chief Regulatory & Wholesale Officer of Orange Egypt, as board member of the IT industry Chamber, an affiliate of the Federation of Egyptian Industries.

The selection of Abbadi comes as a confirmation for her leading role in the telecommunications industry and information technology, and her expertise of more than twenty-sixth year, during which she assumed senior positions in regional and global companies, including Deloitte & Touche, Fast Link.

She started working in Orange Egypt since 1999, where she held several positions; the most important position was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Her responsibilities included all aspects of financial management such as the capitalism expenditure committee and the investment committee of the company and responsible for the shareholders affairs, including the issuance of the company quarterly financials and managing major shareholders' meetings, as well as the relationship between the company and the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, coordination of all of the General Authority for financial markets and the General Authority for financial supervision and procurement Department , the Budgeting and Planning Department and managing the financial control (Internal control) in line with the financial supervisory directives.

She also served as Management Development Executive Vice President (VP Transformation) for Orange Egypt from January 2007 until April 2009 to include the establishment of the central projects management concept and quality management and all what it includes such as guarantee and quality follow-up and revenue assurance, until she assumed her current position as Chief Regulatory & Wholesale Officer where she manages all aspects of the licenses granted to Orange Egypt and organizes the company's ties with NTRA and the Ministry of Communications and all relations with the public sector and regulators. She is also responsible for the operational and organizational relationships with telecom operators in Egypt and international operators.

On this occasion Rana Abbadi Chief Regulatory & Wholesale Officer expressed her gratitude for this trust conferred upon those who chose her, stressing that the Chamber of the information technology and telecommunication is one of the largest NGO's for the telecommunication industry in the Egyptian market.
