Penta-Ocean Construction Co., Ltd. (President: Takuzo Shimizu) is working to convert construction site offices to ZEB as part of its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions at construction sites.

In April of last year, we acquired the first 'Neraly ZEB' certification for our construction office in Hokkaido 1 . After that, four construction offices in Kitakyushu (September 2010), Fukuoka (March 2011), Shizuoka (April 2011) and Tokyo (May 2011) undertook the Building Energy Efficiency Labeling System (BELS). We are pleased to inform you that we have acquired the 'ZEB' certification of the Building Energy-efficiency Labeling System). This brings us to five certifications for our field offices.

To save energy in the on-site office, in addition to strengthening the insulation of the office envelope, we adopted a resin sash (Low-e multi-layered glass specification) made by Excel Shannon Co., Ltd. (President: Shumitsu Ikeda) that can be installed in a prefabricated office. In addition to further improving insulation performance, we have achieved an energy reduction rate of 54-64% by combining LEDs and motion sensors to reduce the lighting load and the introduction of high-efficiency air conditioning and ventilation equipment. In addition, by installing solar power generation as energy creation and covering 43-56% of the power consumption of the site office, we achieved an energy reduction rate of 101-110% in combination with energy saving and energy creation.

We regard the response to the global climate change problem as one of the most important management issues.

In addition to promoting efforts to reduce CO2 emissions from construction equipment and work ships in construction business activities, we will also expand efforts to ZEB at construction site offices nationwide. In addition, we will contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality in 2050 through our main business by promoting the expansion of renewable energy supply through the construction of offshore wind power generation and the reduction of CO2 emissions during the use of buildings through the conversion of buildings to ZEB.
