PNC Financial Services Group has named Michael Lyons president of the financial-services company and its PNC Bank unit.

PNC on Tuesday said Lyons, 53 years old, succeeds William Demchak, who remains chairman and chief executive.

Lyons had been a PNC executive vice president and head of corporate and institutional banking since joining the Pittsburgh company in October 2011.

PNC said its primary operating lines of business and its regional presidents office will report to Lyons.
