ATLANTA, Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PGi (NYSE: PGI), a global leader in virtual meetings for over 20 years, was included in America's 2012 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List released by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption for the second year in a row. Each year, the Foundation announces a list of employers with the best adoption benefits in the nation based on the maximum amount of financial reimbursement and paid leave for employees who adopt. This year, PGi was ranked number one in the communications and telecommunications industry.

"We are thrilled to receive the prestigious honor of being named a best adoption-friendly workplace," said Boland T. Jones, PGi founder, chairman and CEO. "Since our current benefits inception in 2006, PGi has helped 14 children find their way home through adoption. Helping our employees grow their families is an absolute joy, and we're extremely proud to assist in any way possible."

"As both a Benefits Manager and an adoptive parent, it means a great deal to me to offer this benefit for our workforce. We're helping our associates build forever-families, which is a wonderful thing to do," said Karrie Andes, Senior Benefits Manager.

More than 100,000 children in the U.S. foster care system are waiting to be adopted. Every year, nearly 30,000 children in foster care turn 18 and leave the system without families to call their own. The release of the sixth annual Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List helps the Foundation increase foster care adoption awareness while celebrating those businesses that support adoptive families. The top 100 rankings are featured in the September issue of Employee Benefit News, a SourceMedia publication that is the leading source of information for benefits decision makers.

Adoption benefits are one of the easiest benefit policies a company can offer and are becoming more popular. In Aon Hewitt's annual survey of 1,000 major U.S. employers, only 12 percent offered a financial adoption benefit in 1990. This year, 56 percent of employers reported offering a financial adoption benefit.
