Probolinggo - Pertamina together with PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero), PT PAL Indonesia (Persero), PT PN XI and PT Waskita Karya Tbk (Persero) conducted social service activities namely Cheap Food and Sharing Happiness with children from the community in need in the Tengger region.

The social service was held at the Saraswati celebration which was centered in Ngadirejo Village, Sukapura District, Probolinggo Regency, East Java.

In the Social Service in the form of the Cheap Food title, as many as 1,000 cheap food packages worth Rp 100,000 per package are sold at Rp 25,000 per package. The food packages provided at the Cheap Food are in the form of rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt and sardines which in their supply are the result of collaboration with the local Bulog.

The opening of Cheap Food was marked by the symbolic delivery of cheap food packages from the Acting Deputy for Business Infrastructure Business Ministry of SOEs, Yuni Suyanto, VP CSR of PT Pertamina (Persero), Arya Dwi Paramita, GM Corporate Secretary of PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero), Puguh Dwi Tjahjono , Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT PAL Indonesia (Persero), Rariya Budi Harta, Head of PT PN XI PKBL Division, Sugiarti and Head of the Small Medium Enterprise & Social Responsibility Partnership of PT Waskita Karya Tbk (Persero), Meiriawan, to the residents' representatives and witnessed by the Camat Sukapura, Maryoto S. Sos, M.Sc.

Pertamina's Vice President Corporate Social Responsibility, as the Coordinator of BUMN, Arya Dwi Paramita, said that the activity is a form of BUMN synergy and part of the 2019 Present State Enterprise Program (BHUN) which was initiated by the Ministry of BUMN and aims to improve the welfare of the community. The BUMN activity has been going on since 2015 in all provinces in Indonesia.

'This cheap food degree aims to help people get and access basic needs at affordable prices. And we will return the proceeds from the sale of Cheap Food to the community in the form of donations that are beneficial to the community, 'he said.

In addition, continued Arya Dwi Paramita, the five SOEs also carried out activities of Sharing Happiness with Children from underprivileged families in the District of Sukapura, Probolinggo Regency. Assistance was given to 100 underprivileged, junior and vocational high school students. Each received a gift in the form of school equipment worth Rp 100,000, - and an education benefit of Rp. 250,000.

In this activity, the children had the opportunity to display their skills in the field of dance, in addition to other interesting entertainment and educational games in the form of games that can broaden children's insights.

'This is a tangible manifestation of SOE's concern for the next generation of the nation by sharing happiness with underprivileged children through the provision of school supplies and gifts,' Arya added.

In addition, he added, Pertamina and Waskita Karya also provided infrastructure facilities in the form of temple repairs provided for the Guru Nata Temple and Agung Sari Kencono Temple. With this assistance it is hoped that it can improve the level of worship of citizens and children's learning achievement

According to him, the social service held at the Saraswati celebration will also remember the importance of Saraswati for Hindus, the day when the sacred knowledge of humankind for humanity will progress, peace and prosperity.

Arya added, the presence of five SOEs in the Province of East Java was a tangible form of SOE concern for the community. Previously, Pertamina, Waskita Karya, INKA, PT PN XI and PT PAL Indonesia had synergized in organizing BUMN Present for the State in the form of Safari Ramadan and Indonesian Independence Day which were centered in Tuban Regency.
