Publicitas enters the future with a new owner

Zurich, 1st July 2014 - Publicitas AG, the 124-year old, international media sales company, has a new owner. AURELIUS, headquartered in Munich (Germany), has purchased 100% of the shares in Publicitas from the publically listed company PubliGroupe. Publicitas CEO Alain D. Bandle, together with his management team, will continue to implement the strategy, announced in August 2013, further developing the company into a multi-media and increasingly technology-based service provider.

As of 1st July 2014, Publicitas will become a company of AURELIUS. Since 2006, AURELIUS has been operating in the international market for company acquisitions and corporate spin-offs focusing on where there is great potential for development. AURELIUS is taking over Publicitas with all its associated companies in Switzerland and abroad as well as the 49% participation in xentive SA. All employees and contractual duties will be assumed, in particular vis-à-vis media owners, advertisers and agencies.

Publicitas will continue to offer its media sales services to media owners on a local, regional, national and international level. Located in Switzerland and a further 20 countries, the company will continue to provide consultation to advertisers and agencies, supporting the placing of their advertising messages, according to their target audience. With its new owner, Publicitas has the necessary scope to implement its strategy, announced in August 2013 and can continue to automate processes within the planning, booking and administration of advertisements, throughout all media channels.

On 2nd April 2014, PubliGroupe announced the sale of Publicitas to AURELIUS. The sale was officially concluded on the 30th June 2014, after PubliGroupe shareholders and competition authorities gave their approval and all formalities for the transaction were fulfilled.
