Contract Win - RapidAPI adopted by one of the largest conglomerates in Malaysia, Sime Darby

01 July 2016

RapidCloud International Plc (AIM: RCI), the enterprise cloud computing services and web-solutions provider based in Southeast Asia, announces a new, multi-phase, 12-month contract win with a leading Malaysian conglomerate, Sime Darby Global Services Centre Sdn. Bhd ('Sime Darby'), for its RapidAPI gateway solution.

The first phase integration between the IFCA Enterprise Resource Planning ('ERP') System and ReadSoft Process Director Business Automation tool is worth approximately RM200,000 to the Company with further phase roll outs expected throughout the next 12 months.

The project, which involves the deployment of an integrated API Gateway Middleware developed by the Company, will allow Sime Darby Global Services Centre to deliver cost efficiencies and embedded controls that, in turn, enhance the service effectiveness of Sime Darby by reducing the complexity of its system management and increasing agility with improving access to information.

RapidAPI gateway achieves this by streamlining the management and operation of applications whilst, at the same time, enhancing security and regulatory compliance. The solution is ideal for organisations that are exposed to management and security challenges, such as Governments, Telcos, Internet Service Providers and large-scale enterprises, given the existence of the large and diverse number of applications running within their network.

RapidAPI gives Sime Darby control of the entire end-to-end lifecycle from development, testing, deployment, administration and monitoring. With the single platform, Sime Darby can extend to integrate across various third party ERP systems including Dynamics AX, SAP and GDMS within the Sime Darby group of companies in the future.

Raymond Chee, Managing Director of RapidCloud, said: 'Demand for the RapidAPI gateway middleware is increasing because of the need for large organisations to manage their operations in a more systematic way while, at the same time, ensuring proper security and governance are in place for better productivity and compliance.

'RapidAPI brings tremendous opportunities to RapidCloud because it functions as a platform and intermediary between various applications and interlinking between operations in various branches or subsidiaries within the group. In other words, the moment RapidAPI is being used by a client, it will continue to be enhanced and positioned more and more tightly integrated as a platform for all its operations, creating more revenue opportunities for RapidCloud in the future and we look forward to updating the market with additional contracts in due course.'
