SHILOH INDUSTRIES CONGRATULATES CHEVROLET ON THE SILVERADO BEING NAMED THE

2014 NORTH AMERICAN TRUCK OF THE YEAR

VALLEY CITY, Ohio, Jan. 14, 2014 - Shiloh Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHLO), a leading supplier of lightweighting, noise and vibration solutions, congratulates Chevrolet on the Silverado being named "2014 North American Truck of the Year." The award was announced during the opening press day for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

"We're extremely proud to be a supplier of choice for the Chevrolet Silverado," said Ramzi Hermiz, president and chief executive officer, Shiloh Industries, Inc. "Integrating lightweight materials in vehicles can present both opportunities and challenges - specifically for design, joining methods, structural validation and NVH. Shiloh's proprietary processes and industry-leading products support General Motors in achieving its lightweighting goals without compromising safety, strength or noise."
The Silverado was applauded for its weight reduction and new, highly efficient engine technology. Shiloh supplies the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado with many of its lightweighting technologies, allowing the truck to achieve best-in-class fuel economy. The Silverado features Shiloh's industry-leading curvilinear laser welding on its door inners, which help to reduce weight. Shiloh also supplies the vehicle with lightweight seating and exhaust components, along with aluminum squeeze cast steering column components.
Shiloh is one of the only suppliers in the industry capable of multi-curvilinear laser welding. This complex process uses a sophisticated multi-axis weld head along with equally complex tracking software. Shiloh
is able to maintain a constant angle and speed of the laser beam, even around curves. By moving the weld line out of critical forming areas, the company is able to provide further material and cost
optimization to its customers.
"We see big growth opportunities with curvilinear welding and although this technology is unique to steel welding, we're currently conducting advanced development work on aluminum to meet future market demands," added Hermiz.
Shiloh has a longstanding relationship with General Motors and was recently recognized by the automakerfor demonstrating some of the highest levels of quality performance in the industry.
The North American Car and Truck of the Year awards were established in pattern with the prestigious "Car of the Year" award in Europe to honor a car and a truck that set new benchmarks in value, innovation, performance, safety and driver satisfaction for its class. The Chevrolet Silverado was selected by a jury of 48 automotive journalists, many of whom have covered the auto industry for decades.
This is the first year Chevrolet has swept the awards, also winning the "2014 North American Car of the
Year" for the Corvette.
