HOUSTON (AP) _ Stage Stores Inc. (SSI) on Thursday reported a loss of $15.9 million in its fiscal third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of 55 cents. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, were 15 cents per share.

The department store operator posted revenue of $415 million in the period.

Stage Stores expects full-year results to range from a loss of $1.40 per share to a loss of $1.25 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.64 billion to $1.67 billion.

The company's shares closed at $2.25. A year ago, they were trading at $1.51.
