Standard Register (NYSE: SR), a leader in workflow, content and analytics, has been honored for the tenth consecutive year by Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) with the Masters of Quality Supplier Award for its specialty labels. The award was presented by DTNA’s Sean Taggart, supplier management quality engineer, to employees at the company’s Radcliff, Kentucky, specialty label printing facility.

“A label is just a critical component on the truck, and if it’s not right or ready to go, it stops their production line,” said Joseph Klenke, President, Product Marking and Decoration, for Standard Register. “We have worked hard over the past 20 years to help ensure Daimler Trucks remains competitive, and are proud to be viewed as a role model for the commercial vehicle supplier base.”

The Radcliff facility produces pressure-sensitive labels in several ways – including digital printing, screen printing and with flexography. Standard Register digitally produces an array of safety-focused labels to protect the commercial vehicle operator from on-the-job hazards. The company’s expertise in materials science helps ensure these durable labels last for the life of the vehicle.

Ultra high-speed, high-quantity flexographic printing is used for items such as shipping labels, statement-form label combinations, price stickers and packing lists. In both processes, the label construction is multi-web and can be multiple-sided, with inline printing and lamination of the various webs.

As a Masters of Quality supplier, Standard Register has been judged by DTNA to provide top quality components for its Freightliner and Western Star truck brands, as determined on a Balanced Scorecard covering quality, delivery, technology and cost performance. Standard Register produces 15 million labels per day for a wide range of uses, including product marking, shipping, safety and work in process.
