United Kingdom, February 28, 2012 Taleo Corporation (NASDAQ: TLEO) the global leader of SaaS-based Talent Management solutions, is urging businesses to follow the example of Thomas Cook and prepare for the challenges presented by the high volumes of job applications. As unemployment continues to rise, Taleo is highlighting the need for employers to adopt the necessary processes and technology to correctly analyse and filter through the mass of CVs they may be receiving as a result of the recruitment crisis.

Taleo is citing Thomas Cook as a successful example of a business which has put in place a structured approach to both recruitment and talent management, enabling the business to easily process job applications whilst also analysing candidates thoroughly enough to identify the correct individual for the job. The implementation of a number of Taleo's talent management solutions has resulted in major improvements for the resourcing team and enhanced visibility throughout the organisation.

Thomas Cook UK and Ireland is the second largest leisure travel group in the UK with 17,000 employees and a network of more than 800 high street stores. The company also owns various other brands, including Airtours, Club 18-30, Cresta and CruiseThomasCook, and has a financial services range and a publishing division. This, in addition to the merger with MyTravel and the high amount of applicants received for their seasonal positions, has resulted in a significant strain on their recruitment department.

Through its implementation of Taleo Recruiting, Thomas Cook's resourcing team is able to identify top candidates without sifting through thousands of applications, using written assessment questions focused on hard and soft skills, academic and professional certifications, and role and industry specific experience.

Working with Taleo's Onboarding system, Thomas Cook has also improved their candidate initiation programme. This online solution allows new staff to take a comprehensive induction that ensures they understand the company's history, values, policies and the intricacies of their job role.

Thomas Cook has also been using the system to track disruptions to the process and identify documents that have not been filled out correctly, thus providing the company with a better level of accountability.
