On Thursday morning, TDC Group published figures for Q1 2018. The company's revenue was DKK 5.1 bn, while earnings (EBITDA) were DKK 2.1 bn.

Earnings are growing organically by 1.1% compared to the same period last year. In Denmark, earnings are improving even more, with as much as 2.7% in organic growth. This is the highest growth rate since 2010.

'Since the launch of our strategy two years ago, we have been working towards reversing the trend and creating growth in our business in 2018. The financial statements confirm that we are on track for the target this year. All the employees have put in a tremendous effort to achieve this, making TDC Group much stronger now than it was two years ago,' says Pernille Erenbjerg, Group CEO and President of TDC Group.

The improved financial performance is a consequence of the implementation of a wide range of structural and strategic actions since 2016, including the merging of brands and IT systems, the roll-out of gigaspeed broadband to half of Danish homes, a radical digitalisation programme, flexible TV solutions and the development of own content.

More mobile customers to TDC Group
The quarterly financial statements also show that the company's Danish mobile business is continuing its strong development with 46,000 new mobile customers. Thus, TDC Group now has 3,039,000 mobile customers in Denmark.

The addition of mobile customers and higher revenue per mobile customer in the consumer market have contributed to the continuing growth of the Danish mobile business for eight consecutive quarters. Compared to the same quarter in 2017, mobile gross profit increased organically by as much as 9.5%. TDC Group also increased its market share by 1.5 percentage points, and the company now accounts for more than 40% of the revenue in the Danish mobile market.

'I am very pleased with the development of our mobile business over the last two years. We have focused strongly on having the best mobile network in Denmark, and our customers appreciate that strategy,' says Pernille Erenbjerg and continues:

'Continued investment in the mobile network and our digital platforms is needed to maintain the leading position we have built up over a number of years. That is why, as the first in Denmark, we are currently testing 5G, the next generation of mobile technology, which will give our customers an even better experience.'
