TelecityGroup, Europe's industry-leading provider of premium carrier-neutral data centres, has taken top spot in the software and computer services category of Management Today's annual 'Britain's Most Admired Companies' 2012 awards. The Group also came 28th in the overall list which comprises over 250 of the largest and most admired companies in Britain. This is the second consecutive year that TelecityGroup has made the prestigious list which recognises the success of the country's highest performing and most innovative businesses.

Winners are identified by a peer review involving Britain's top firms as well as leading City investment analysts. By awarding TelecityGroup top spot in the software and computer services category, the judging panel acknowledged the Group's continued financial performance and its ongoing expansion strategy, which in 2012, included the acquisition of the two leading data centre operators in Finland; Tenue and Academica.

Now in its 22nd year and run in conjunction with Birmingham City Business School, Management Today's 'Britain's Most Admired Companies' awards offer a unique insight into the factors contributing to corporate reputation. Businesses spanning 26 sectors compete for marks out of ten across nine unique criteria. Everything from innovation, the quality of marketing to the financial performance and the strength of management teams are taken into account, as the awards seek to recognise the very best that British business has to offer.

Michael Tobin, CEO of TelecityGroup says: "It is an honour to receive this recognition from our peers for the second consecutive year. Achieving such a high ranking position both in our industry and overall is a fitting testament to the consistent hard work of everyone involved with TelecityGroup as we continue to innovate and lead the digital economy."
