Telekom Slovenije now offering immediate internet and TV connection

Telekom Slovenije is not about to make any concessions and is constantly improving user experience. New subscribers can now get their internet and TV services connected immediately after concluding their subscriber agreement. This is especially welcome news for those subscribers where the fibre optics connection has not been built yet, however, Telekom Slovenije plans to construct or finish it soon. In 2022 Telekom Slovenije provided connections through its fibre optic infrastructure to more than 30,909 additional households, and the company now provides the option of connecting to its fibre optic network in Slovenia to more than 442,000 households in total.

New subscribers can begin using services immediately using mobile technologies, even before the fixed broadband connection has been established. Telekom Slovenije was among the first to develop the solution that brings internet, fixed telephone services and TV over the mobile network, and has been offering it since 2015; however, up until now it has mostly been offered to users in areas where it is not possible to establish a fixed connection, but mobile coverage is available. With the development of the capable and highly stable mobile network and increased capacities, this solution is now available broadly.

"At Telekom Slovenije we are constantly improving the user experience. Subscribers want to begin using the services immediately, without waiting to be connected, so we made this possible for them. Now internet and TV services are available practically immediately. When concluding their agreement, the subscriber receives their modem and up to three NEO Smartboxes at the point of sale - or by mail if they conclude the agreement remotely - and can simply install them themselves once they get home. Services are already activated and begin working immediately after installation," explained Rok Gorjup, Sales Director at Telekom Slovenije.

New subscribers to NEO A, NEO B and NEO C subscription plans can connect through state-of-the-art mobile network, if they do not already have a sufficiently capable fixed connection.

This is another way that Telekom Slovenije makes it easier for its subscribers to switch from the copper to the fibre optics network.

Telekom Slovenije manages the biggest and most advanced fibre optic network in the country; it is available to more than a half Slovenian households. Subscribers can opt for speeds of up to 2 Gigabits per second (Gbps), and Telekom Slovenije is already upgrading its network with XGS-PON technology that will support speeds of up to 10 Gbps.
