"We are thrilled to bring modern, contemporary, and exciting art to the Tang with our New Works Series," said Adirondack Trust President and CEO Charles V. Wait, Jr. "We already know that our area is an epicenter of culture and creativity. By providing a platform for artists to launch new material, we're showing our commitment and enthusiasm toward the vibrant arts community."

For the opening event, the gallery will host the world premiere of How Vowels Endure Winter, a series of monologues and music composed by David Greenberger and Tyson Rogers for voice and piano. The piece, which includes short tales about collecting, creating, organizing, and memory, was created in response to Joachim Schmid's Studio/Archive exhibition, currently on view.

Over the past 30 years, Greenberger has created commissioned works for museums, universities, performing-arts venues, and National Public Radio, growing from The Duplex Planet (1979), a publication that grew into books, comic books, and exhibitions. A documentary film about Greenberger, Beyond the Duplex Planet, is due to be released in 2024. Greenberger will be accompanied in How Vowels Endure Winter by recording and touring musician Tyson Rogers.
