The Toll Group today announced that it had signed a binding agreement to acquire the North West WA transport division, Sadleirs-Nexus, from Lionel Samson Sadleirs Group.

The move ensures the continuation of sustainable and competitive transport and freight services for customers in the North West region of Western Australia, a win for regional business and their customers.

General Manager of Toll Express, Larry O'Regan, said that consolidation of services into Sadleirs RDS-Nexus/Toll Express would keep Western Australian transport moving.

'Toll Express knows how important regional business is to Western Australia, with challenges facing the industry this acquisition will safeguard the viability of transport throughout the state,' Mr O'Regan said.

'The combined team will be committed to maintaining strong customer relationships and excellent service throughout Western Australia.'

In the short-term there will be no immediate changes to the way Toll does business with these customers.

Over time as systems are transitioned, the new combined business will be able to take advantage of Toll's technology advances such as web-based track and trace, sign on glass capability and range of freight dispatch systems that enable full visibility. All of these innovations will create a better customer experience.

The acquisition is subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
