PITTSBURGH, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tollgrade Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: TLGD) will demonstrate its newest service assurance offerings this week at the Supercomm2009 telecom trade event in Chicago at Booth #2623. These new offerings are a result of an OEM agreement with the Finland-based Accanto Systems, a leading supplier of advanced Customer Service Assurance and troubleshooting solutions to communications service providers.

Tollgrade will feature at the trade event quad-play service assurance solutions, including Accanto's line of 'intelligent customer service assurance' products as well as Tollgrade's next generation service assurance portfolio and its recently introduced Stratum(TM) test and diagnostics solution.

With the completion of this OEM agreement, Tollgrade now offers a full spectrum of service assurance solutions for video, voice, data and wireless applications. This new suite of products, including advanced multi-protocol analyzers and network monitoring systems which support mobile and VOIP applications, will be marketed and supported under the Tollgrade brand name and will be available where Tollgrade has a significant presence and embedded base in centralized testing systems around the world.

Stratum, created by Tollgrade, is being introduced to telecom providers to help integrate new IP-based network testing initiatives with existing platforms, thus providing integrated test analysis across a variety of access technologies.

Stratum will support multiple data inputs from a customer's network and test resources, including Tollgrade's existing 4TEL®, Celerity® and LoopCare(TM) software platforms and test probes, and perform combinational expert system analysis of faults in the access network to enable more effective dispatching of field resources. It is able to monitor and collect embedded performance and measurement data from traditional test heads; network equipment, such as DSLAMs, MSANs, OLTs and ONTs; and from customer premises equipment such as DSL modems, Set Top Box and Remote Gateways. Stratum is currently being deployed in customer trials in the United States and South America.

"Our newest service assurance solutions in software and hardware are focused on improving testing and reporting capabilities of a telecom operator's next generation network," said David Chan, Tollgrade's Executive Director of Marketing. "With the growth of IP-based services, the need to integrate service assurance testing into existing network platforms is greater than ever as providers seek a higher degree of reliable service delivery for every application. The addition of new quad-play testing, as well as our own new software solution -- Stratum -- gives our customers a fully-integrated test analysis capability across a range of access technologies," added Chan.

Tollgrade officials will offer a presentation of these solutions at the Exploration Theater location at McCormick Place entitled, "Managing Service Assurance for Evolving Networks," on Wednesday October 21, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., and also through live demonstrations at Booth #2623.
