Toyo Tire & Rubber is making some organisational and personnel changes that will be effective from 1 January 2017. The company is changing its group headquarters structure from the existing division by business category to a new one organised by operational function. This includes integration of planning and management functions into Corporate Headquarters. The company will also re-establish certain units, including its Corporate Planning Division, Product Planning Division, Administrative Division, Corporate Purchasing Division, and SnCM Division within Corporate Headquarters. In addition, the Quality Assurance Division and Compliance & Legal Division will be re-established under Quality Assurance & Compliance Headquarters; and the Production Engineering Division and Environment & Safety Enhancement Division will be re-established under the Environment, Safety & Production Engineering Headquarters. The Production Division will be re-established under Production Headquarters, while the Central Research Center, R&D Division No.1, and R&D Division No.2, will be re-established under R&D Headquarters. Finally, the Original Equipment Sales Division, Domestic Sales Division, and Overseas Sales Division will be re-established under Sales Headquarters. Toyo Tire has also established a North American Business Development Department to further strengthen the North American business, and a Global Project Development Department to expand business globally.

In addition to these changes, the company has appointed Yasushi Takagi as head of Sales Headquarters. Koichi Ono and Tetsuo Tatara have been named the heads of the Quality Assurance & Compliance Headquarters and the Environment, Safety & Production Engineering Headquarters, respectively. Tamotsu Sakuramoto has been appointed head of Corporate Headquarters; Shinji Tanabe as senior corporate officer, head of Overseeing Production Headquarters; and Tatsuo Mitsuhata as head of the North American Business Development Department.
