In the annual ceremony of NASDAQ OMX Baltic Market Awards held yesterday in Vilnius ?kio bankas was evaluated in two nominations - for the Most Visible Improvement in Investor Relations and in the category of the best broker.

In the category of the The Most Visible Improvement in Investor Relations in 2012 ?kio bankas won the third place.

"?kio bankas was only Lithuanian company that was evaluated for its progress in developing investor relations last year. ?kio bankas makes every effort to regularly improve and develop this area. This award will become one more serious stimulus for further improvement," says Marius Arlauskas, ?kio bankas Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Head of the Financial Institutions and Fund Raising Department.

In the Best Broker's nomination 2nd and 3rd places were shared by Tomas Kipi?as, Deputy Head of ?kio bankas Financial Brokerage Department and the representative of SEB bank who were invited to collect the awards.

In the words of award winner T. Kipi?as, this evaluation is an important recognition of the professionalism of both ?kio bankas and its staff.

"Upon having earned expert recognition, ?kio bankas proved to have professional staff capable of providing premium quality services to its clients," says Mr. Kipi?as, who was awarded in the Best Broker's nomination.

The list of award nominees included 25 Lithuanian, 12 Latvian and 14 Estonian companies, which were evaluated according to more than 100 criteria upon analysing the candidates' annual and management reports, periodic reports, notifications of materials events, as well as evaluation of analysts, etc.

Baltic companies were evaluated in individual categories by an international expert team comprising experts in corporate management and investor relations, mass media and academic community representatives, analysts of equity markets and the managers of Baltic stock exchanges.

NASDAQ OMX Baltic Market Award event has been held since 2006.
