Statement | 30th March 2022

Following last night's vigil in remembrance of Sabita Thanwani at London's City University, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

On behalf of everyone at Unite Students, our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.

As well as extending our deepest sympathies to Sabita's family and friends, we are also committed to supporting our student community as they come to terms with the shocking loss of a much-loved friend, neighbour and fellow student.

The safety and wellbeing of all our students is and always will be a priority.

This has been a shock to us all, and we therefore encourage anyone who feels personally affected by this incident to seek help from family, friends or their university student welfare officer. Students can also talk to Unite Students' staff in their property or get further support at Student Minds.
