UnitedHealth Group reports a net loss of $1.53 per share for the first three months of 2024, mainly due to currency effects related to the disposal of the Brazil business and the cyberattack on Change HealthCare.

Excluding the Brazil sale and direct response costs to the cyberattack, but including the impact of business disruptions for $0.25, adjusted EPS for the insurance and healthcare services group rose by over 10% to $6.91.

For the current full year, the parent company of UnitedHealthcare and Optum has modified its EPS forecast on a reported basis to between $17.60 and $18.20, but confirms its target range on an adjusted basis at between $27.50 and $28.
