USMD Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: USMD), a physician-led integrated healthcare system, announced today that two new physicians – Hedieh Davanloo, M.D., and Paul Fabela, M.D. – have joined USMD Affiliated Services. These new physicians have been added to support the growing healthcare needs of the communities and patients USMD serves.

“I am pleased to welcome Dr. Davanloo and Dr. Fabela to USMD,” said Richard Johnston, M.D., chief physician officer and executive vice president of USMD Holdings. “These outstanding physicians bring tremendous experience to USMD and will allow us to continue to meet the needs of our growing patient base and provide our patients with the care and personal attention they deserve.”

Dr. Davanloo has joined USMD’s growing group of geriatric medicine physicians, bringing the total number of geriatricians to eight. Dr. Fabela, who specializes in internal medicine, brings the total number of USMD internists to 57.

Dr. Davanloo and Dr. Fabela both accept Medicare, bringing the total number of USMD physicians currently serving seniors and accepting new Medicare patients to 100. Nationally, 10,000 baby boomers a day reach the age of 65. By 2030, it is anticipated that 18 percent of the nation will be 65 or older. USMD is positioning itself to better care for that age group.
