ROANOKE, VIRGINIA (February 4, 2014) - Valley Bank was recently named as one of the 2013 Best Places to Work in Virginia. The annual list of "Best Places to Work" was created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group. The rankings have been unveiled and published in the February 2014 issue of Virginia Business and Valley Bank ranked 9th in the mid-sized employer group (firms with 100 - 249 employees). This marks the third year in a row that Valley Bank ranked in the Top Ten Best Places to Work in Virginia.
This survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state's economy, its work force and businesses. In 2013, 132 organizations from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process and determined the final rankings by benchmarking the companies on a list of core values: leadership and planning; corporate culture and communication; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and benefits; pay benefits; and overall employee engagement. In the end, a total of 100 companies made the final cut for this year's list.
