Virgin Australia Holdings Limited reported operating results for the month and year to date ended January 2013. For the month, total passengers carried were 1,546,305 against 1,630,638 a year ago. Total available seat kilometers (ASK) were 3,550 million against 3,385 million a year ago. Total revenue load factor was 75.7% against 80.0% a year ago. In domestic operations, Passengers carried for the month January decreased 5.9%, revenue passenger Kilometres declined by 1.7% on the previous corresponding period and Revenue Load Factor decreased by 5.8 points.

For the year to date ended January 2013, total passengers carried were 11,628,382 against 11,517,670 a year ago. Total available seat kilometers were 24,752 million against 23,324 million a year ago. Total revenue load factor was 77.8% against 80.3% a year ago. International operations achieved passenger growth of 3.5% on Available Seat Kilometre growth of 2.5% during year-to-date January 2013.

The company expects domestic capacity to grow between 5% and 7%, for the second half of 2013 compared to the second half of 2012.
