NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / June 15, 2018 / U.S. market ended mostly higher on Thursday, as rallies from tech sector drove the Nasdaq to new intraday and closing records. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.10 percent to close at 25,175.31, while the S&P 500 Index gained 0.25 percent to close at 2,782.49. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 0.85 percent to close at 7,761.04. In other news, investors were mostly supportive about the European Central Bank specifying a timeline for its bond-buying program and its interest-rate policy.

"The ECB did a pretty good job telegraphing what it's planning to do. [ECB President Mario] Draghi is following Ben Bernanke's playbook, with a zero-interest-rate policy, bond buying, and then eventually shrinking the central bank's balance sheet. When we did all that, our market continued to move higher, which gives investors confidence that the blueprint they're following is the correct one," said Federated Investors chief equity market strategist, Phil Orlando.
