'Basketball Fever' has felt at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport from May 16 to 21. During the finals of the largest European basketball club competition, a total of about 160 flights dedicated to this competition were handled.

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport CEO Saša Vlaisavljević has on this occasion said:
'Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport was ready to welcome all the guests, players, management, officials and fans of all four teams participating in the final tournament of the biggest club basketball competition in Europe.

During the tournament, Belgrade Airport set up two new records:

On Friday, May 18, a new daily record with 11,828 passengers arriving in Belgrade was set, while on Monday, May 21, a new daily record of 13,062 passengers departing Belgrade.

On Friday, May 18th, Belgrade Airport handled 81 scheduled flights, with an 13 additional wide-body charter and extra scheduled flights, as well as 33 general and business aviation flights. In total, about 20 percent more flights were handled than on regular Friday, while on Monday about 240 aircraft movements were made, a quarter more than usual.

Belgrade and Serbia were the focus these days with Belgrade Airport handling more than 100,000 passengers only during the final tournament of EuroLeague.

I am glad that Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport employees with their professional activities have contributed to the successful organization of this great sporting event, proving once again that the Airport is always a good host and good support to all major events in this region.'
