Aetna : Announces New Accountable Care Agreement in Florida with Lee Physician Hospital Organization

FORT MYERS, FL., May 30, 2018 - Aetna (NYSE: AET) today announced a new accountable care agreement with Lee Physician Hospital Organization designed to improve the quality and efficiency of care for employers with employees residing in Charlotte, Hendry, Lee and Collier Counties in Southwest Florida.

Aetna members already enrolled in a fully insured plan and who have seen one of Lee PHO physicians in the last 12 months will automatically become part of the collaboration effective immediately. Those members will receive the additional benefit of an integrated care delivery model, which includes the tracking of metrics to achieve higher quality care and lower costs.

• Lower overall costs for members who see providers that are part of the Lee Physician Hospital Organization; and
• Better health care outcomes for patients.

Approximately 9,000 Aetna members will benefit from this new agreement.
