MAPIC 2017 - stand P-1 K50

For Altarea Cogedim 2017 was a year of intense activity as the Group pushed forward its ambitions in the Retail segment. At the MAPIC trade show, which runs from 15 to 17 November 2017 in Cannes, France, the Group will showcase the iconic buildings and future projects that exemplify its convictions on how retail property should be done.

Highlights of the year included Altarea Cogedim's winning bid for the future shopping & leisure centre in Ferney-Voltaire (Pays de Gex-Ain). The Group is also continuing its marketing drive for the future Paris-Montparnasse station, which will be completely transformed. Recent news included the opening of the Promenade de Flandre shopping centre in October and the opening of Massy Place du Grand Ouest, the first major urban project inaugurated by the Group. Lastly, the iconic Cap 3000 regional shopping centre continues to mature with the centre's latest extension taking its total surface area up to 135,000 m².

'Retail property is a strategic development focus within the Altarea Cogedim Group. Today, we share several convictions. Firstly, that we must sustainably transform shopping centres so that they become not just places for shopping, but also living spaces, such as at Cap 3000 which uses new technologies to support a new shopping experience. Stations will also become new retail hubs within cities, as can be seen with the redevelopment of Paris-Montparnasse station. We are convinced that retail property can make a major contribution to the dynamism of a region, as exemplified by the future Ferney-Voltaire shopping centre and the recently opened Promenade de Flandre mall. Lastly, cities and metropolitan areas need to integrate a convenience retail offering to meet their citizens' needs, such as at Massy Place du Grand Ouest where 22,000 m² of space is dedicated to high-street retail and leisure', explains Ludovic Castillo, Chairman of the Altarea Commerce Management Board.
