Amadeus includes a global transfer solution in its offer to airline partners 19/12/2014.
Madrid, 19 December, 2014: Amadeus has closed the gap of the "first and last mile" of the air journey, by announcing the launch of the Amadeus Taxi & Transfer solution in partnership with Cabforce, with Scandinavian Airlines as launch partner.
Airlines can now integrate a hassle free "one-stop-shop" in their website, offering a wider range of additional products and services to their customers to increase bookings and revenues.
Cabforce, a leading player in the pre-arranged taxi-transfer solution market, will provide its experience and expertise in the optimisation of the booking process and its excellent customer communication helping increase adoption of the feature. Cabforce's taxi-transfer services are already available through the self-booking tool - Amadeus e-Travel Management - and the travel agencies' point of sales - Amadeus Selling Platform -, but this partnership marks the first time that a taxi-transfer solution is integrated in an airline's website. Cabforce's taxi content is available in six continents, and Amadeus and Cabforce will be working together to add more destinations to this growing list.
The Amadeus Taxi & Transfer offer is currently bookable through SAS' website, with several other airlines in the pipeline to implement this solution. This agreement comes at a time when there is an ever growing focus by airlines on the ancillary services offering as a complementary revenue source; whilst in parallel travellers are looking for the seamless travel experience which this solution provides.
Karl Eklund, Head of Digital Sales, SAS, said: "We have seen an increasing demand for services like this and are happy to offer this solution to SAS customers. Booking airport transfer prior to arrival can make journeys less stressful. We are pleased to be the launch partner and are looking forward to developing this service together with Amadeus and Cabforce."

Andreas Hansson, CEO, Cabforce, said: "We have ploughed in enormous amounts of time, effort and expertise during the years to build our technology platform and test the service with early adopter customers. The partners we speak to just love what we have created. The cooperation with Amadeus is a strong indicator that the market is now ready for what we have envisioned and an important step for Cabforce towards full exposure in international business travel."
Peter Altmann, Head of Amadeus Cars and Transfers, commented: "We have been working hard to add a new Cross-Sell Ancillary Service to our portfolio in response to the demands of our airline customers and we are glad to launch our Amadeus Taxi & Transfer solution with two excellent pilot partners. This solution completes our door-to-door offering, establishing us as the reliable IT partner in taxi-transfer solutions for the sector. We look forward to improving the solution by adding new airline and taxi-transfer partners in the near future and making the content available in all Amadeus channels."
