A stand-out leader for change in the fashion industry, Aerie – which recently celebrated the third anniversary of its #AerieREAL campaign – has made a corporate commitment to body-positivity in its advertising and marketing materials by pledging to no longer retouch models.

“Promoting positive body image and body size diversity is at the core of the work that NEDIC does and we are grateful to partner with Aerie to amplify that message across Canada,” said Suzanne Phillips, NEDIC Program Manager. “Proceeds raised will help support the vital work that we do to educate the community about body-based bullying, and support those affected by eating disorders.”

“We are proud to partner with NEDIC on our first in store campaign,” said Jennifer Foyle, Aerie Global Brand President. “Our partnership provides support and information to our customers and helps reduce the stigma associated with eating disorders. It also reinforces our #AerieREAL message and our commitment to empowering all women to love their REAL selves, inside and out."

The partnership includes multiple components:

  • 100% of sales from the Limited Edition Strong, Beautiful, Me t-shirt will be donated to NEDIC. The tee will be sold in Aerie stores from February 16 through March 15, or while supplies last.
  • Aerie will increase awareness about NEDIC and its work through its social media channels and provide links where customers can find resources on NEDIC’s website.
  • Stories of Impact will be shared on Aerie’s blog, showcasing firsthand accounts of courageous girls who have overcome their eating disorders.
