American Public University System (APUS) today announced that its undergraduate programs have been named for the third consecutive year to U.S. News & World Report’s annual qualitative ranking of top online degree programs. APUS ranked #27 nationally out of 292 schools evaluated which offer online bachelor’s degree programs, or in the top 10 percent overall – advancing seven places over its 2014 ranking.

“Our core mission has always been to deliver high-quality academic programs that favorably compare to the better online or blended programs offered by America’s colleges and universities,” said Dr. Jennifer Stephens Helm, vice president and assistant provost of assessment & accreditation for APUS. “As the unique education patterns of adult and other nontraditional learners become more understood, we believe that the rigor and richness of our curriculum will continue to be appropriately recognized, in turn.”

For more than two decades, APUS has offered affordable academic programs expressly designed to provide outstanding learning and career outcomes to military and civilian students in a collaborative, 100% online classroom led by faculty scholar-practitioners who are leaders in their fields. The University is a frequent honoree of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) for excellence in online education, having recently received an unprecedented fourth best practice recognition from OLC for “Bringing the Library to Life: Live Librarian Instruction in a First-Year Online Course.” In addition, APUS Director of Research Methodology Melissa Layne last year received the Wagner Award for Distance Education Leadership, the fourth such APUS honoree in the last six years, and 22 APUS students and alumni were named Presidential Management Fellowship finalists over the last two years.
