The new partnership has already been very successful: An agricultural operation in the small French community of Vihiers, located between the cities of Nantes and Tours, commissioned ANDRITZ MeWa to supply a Bio-QZ 1200 cross-flow shredder for pre-treatment of cow and horse manure. The customer aims to make greater use of the large energy potential of the manure and prevent floating layers in the fermenter.

The Bio-QZ reduces the manure practically to 'bite-sized' pieces for the microorganisms in the biogas plant and increases the surface area of the material. As a result, the cow and horse manure mix very well with the other fermentation substrate in the fermenter. A decisive advantage of mechanical treatment in the Bio-QZ is its distinctly positive impact on the gas yield. ANDRITZ MeWa has already succeeded in winning a large number of orders in this sector in Europe.
