DAWSON, Georgia, Jan. 28, 2015 - Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today announced grants totaling $29,500 to eight organizations in southwest Georgia. The grants were made through ADM Cares, the company's social investment program.

"ADM is committed to keeping the southwest Georgia area a great place to live and work," said Mark Milliron, a Dawson-based procurement manager for ADM's Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts business. "We are proud to support these organizations because they help improve the quality of life in our communities today and help create a better foundation for tomorrow."

Organizations and programs receiving grants from ADM in 2014 included:

  • Terrell Academy for emergency alert system and media center upgrades
  • Terrell County 4-H Club for the archery program
  • Terrell County Fire Department for personal protective equipment and fire truck engine heaters
  • Terrell County Emergency Medical Services for rescue equipment
  • Terrell County Recreation Department for automated external defibrillators and park trash receptacles
  • Terrell Family Connection for young parent education and adoptive parent recruitment programs
  • Terrell High School for the football camp program
  • Vienna Volunteer Fire Department for personal protective equipment and a piercing nozzle.

ADM Cares directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide. The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities and fostering employee giving and volunteer activities.
