The Board of Archer Exploration Limited ("Archer") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Bartsch as Manager Metallurgy to lead the Company's drive towards production at the
100% owned Campoona Graphite Project in South Australia.
The key focus for Mr Bartsch will include finalising the optimum process flow sheet, coordinating the pilot plant testing and supervising process and plant design. These process developments are leading towards plant operations treating the Company's graphite deposits over the next two years.
Mr Bartsch has extensive metallurgical experience with over 37 years experience in operation, study and design of metal extraction and minerals processing industries, including commissioning and ramp-up of facilities. He has expertise in flowsheet development for capital projects and in process investigations for plant improvements.
His initial efforts will involve laboratory testing of a composite sample from the Campoona Shaft mineralisation, which is expected to represent the potential plant feed from the 'starter' pit. Investigative efforts will focus on definition of the process flowsheet, as well as characterization of beneficiation performance to produce a combination of marketable flake and high-grade, fine graphite.
Conventional rod milling and multi-stage flotation will be supplemented with selective regrinding and also concentrate enhancement via gravity recovery and hydraulic classification techniques. Chemical leaching treatment of concentrates from flotation and gravity processes will also be systematically tested with a view to extending graphite concentrates into 'ultra' high grade markets.
Archer Managing Director Gerard Anderson said "We are delighted to have Peter on board as Campoona enters the critical stages of finalising the process flowsheet and plant design."
"His metallurgical expertise and his flowsheet design, plant design and commissioning experience will be invaluable as we move towards production at Campoona."
The following is a short summary of Peter's extensive experience
over the last 15 years:
