Auckland International Airport : Airport now welcoming five A380 arrivals every day

Following an upguage to A380 aircrafts from both Emirates and Singapore Airlines, Auckland Airport now welcomes five A380s each day!

Emirates has upscaled its daily non-stop services between Auckland and Dubai to an A380 aircraft less than a year after operating the flights with a Boeing 777-200LR.

Its flagship double-decker A380s began operating on the route, currently the world's longest, from the end of October. Emirates has been flying the route since March 1 this year, in addition to three daily A380s flying from Auckland to Dubai. This means Emirates now have four A380 services a day from Auckland.

Emirates has said that consistently high load factors on the non-stop Auckland to Dubai service - in excess of 85% - have led to this decision.

'The non-stop service has been a great success, bringing 38 Emirates destinations in Europe and a number of others in Africa and the Middle East within one stop of Auckland,' says the airline.

Added to this, Singapore Airlines now operate an A380 on its Singapore to Auckland direct daily service, which is a seasonal upscale to coincide with the Northern winter.
This means a total of five A380s are landing at Auckland Airport from 11am to 4pm every day.

Norris Carter, Auckland Airport's general manager - aeronautical commercial, says not only are the five A380s an impressive sight at Auckland Airport, but it is great news for passengers as well.

'The A380 aircraft is the world's largest passenger airliner. The upgauges to A380s from both Singapore Airlines and Emirates mean that more seats are on offer on both these routes, offering more choice for passengers.'
