Sept. 12, 2014: Avista has named Daniel Austin district manager for Grangeville, Idaho, where he will oversee all electric operations on behalf of Avista in the Grangeville area.

Austin joined Avista in 2012 in the company's engineering rotation program where he worked as a member of the substation design team and in the Spokane construction office. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Gonzaga University following eight years of service in the U.S. Army, most of which assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment.  Austin, a native of Nine Mile Falls, Wash., also serves as an adjunct engineering professor at Gonzaga University.

 "Dan brings a solid background in leadership and engineering, coupled with a strong desire for community involvement," said Greg Gfeller, director of operations for Avista's Idaho service area. "We believe he will be a great leader for our operations in Grangeville."
