Embrace the API economy with Highly Scalable and Secure API Management on Amazon EC2 and the AWS Marketplace

LAS VEGAS- November 12, 2013 -Today at re:Invent, the largest gathering of developers and technical leaders from the Amazon Web Services (AWS) community, Axway (NYSE Euronext: AXW.PA), a leader in governing the flow of data, announced the availability of its Axway Enterprise API Management solution on the AWS Marketplace. Enterprises can now leverage the power and scalability of the Axway API Gateway on AWS to manage, deliver, and secure their enterprise APIs, taking advantage of auto-scaling and elasticity. As APIs are predicted to grow exponentially in usage, the availability of the Axway Enterprise API Management solution on AWS allows organizations to scale their application infrastructure with the dramatic growth of APIs. Unlike other API Management offerings, Axway API Gateway saves customers money by overcoming the expense and inefficiencies of completely separate management of B2B, SOA, and APIs. Together with Axway's B2B and managed file transfer gateways, part of the Axway 5 Suite, the Axway API Gateway enables a smooth transition from B2B protocols (e.g. AS2) to the "API Economy" for customers and partners.

Terry Hanold, Vice President, Cloud Commerce, AWS said, "AWS welcomes Axway to our ecosystem of technology vendors that help to enable customers to more easily gain the benefits of the cloud. Customers will be excited to combine the performance and scalability of the Axway API Gateway with the scalability of Amazon EC2. Our highly elastic, scalable and metered services complement the Axway API Gateway and offer Axway customers additional deployment flexibility."

According to Gartner predictions, "More than two-thirds of all new integration flows will extend outside the enterprise firewall by 2017. (1) " Consequently organizations need to have in place a comprehensive governance infrastructure capable of responding to the demands of exposing data flows for consumption in this extended trading environment.

"APIs have become key to all B2B collaborations as companies expose business services across the corporate firewall; in fact, it's expected the majority of B2B interactions will occur through APIs over the next few years," said Dean Hidalgo, executive vice president, global marketing, Axway. "By making the Axway API Gateway available on AWS Marketplace, we offer our customers the ability to leverage the flexibility and scalability of AWS to govern their data flows as they extend beyond the enterprise edge to include B2B, mobile and cloud integration."

Axway API Gateway 7.2 is available as an Amazon AMI now with elastic load-balancing, enabling customers to leverage auto-scaling of deployments. Axway API Gateway is also available alongside hardware appliance, virtual appliance and installable software options, providing the widest range of deployment options of any API Management vendor.
