Milan, 26 March 2016 - Banca Generali regrets to announce the untimely death of Chief Executive Officer Piermario Motta and would like to extend its heartfelt condolences to his family in their time of mourning. Mr Motta had served as General Manager from 2005 to 2012 when he had been appointed Chief Executive Officer.
His memory is linked to the growth path of the bank that in a few years has become a benchmark in wealth planning and financial advisory in Italy. The development of managerial functions and the powers distributed among different areas, as organized by the Ceo over the past few years, are a guarantee of complete continuity of long-terms growth plans. The bank's operations and customer management activities will continue with the full powers granted to the General Manager, who has been heading the Commercial Area and the professionals throughout Italy for the past three years. In accordance with the succession plan approved by the company, the Chairman will temporarily hold CEO powers until the Board of Directors passes the relevant resolutions.
