Teams can compete across four divisions, including Youth, Family & Friends, Elite and Corporate. The tournament will tip off in July, with first-round games taking place on July 21, July 28, and August 11 at 12 different locations across Birmingham. Each location's first-round winner will advance to the semi finals on September 23. The final round will feature the two remaining teams of each division, who will squareoff on October 2 at Legacy Arena at The BJCC during the BBVA Compass Iron City Showdown.

Hoop A-Palooza takes that experience a step further…

'We can't wait for the city to see what we're putting together,' said Buck Johnson, former University of Alabama standout and 1986 first-round selection by the Houston Rockets. 'The BBVA Compass Iron City Showdown is already making history by giving us the chance to see the NBA right here in our city. Hoop A-Palooza takes that experience a step further by giving basketball fans the chance to play their own game on the same court as the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies on October 2.'

To continue the celebration of basketball in Birmingham, each Hoop-A-Palooza participant will also receive a ticket to the BBVA Compass Iron City Showdown, to watch the Houston Rockets take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the first NBA game hosted in Birmingham in 12 years. The game was announced in early May, and was made possible through BBVA Compass' relationship with the Houston Rockets.
