The International Monetary Fund (IMF) did not alter its forecast for global economic growth this year and next, although it did slightly increase its expectations for growth in the eurozone and China, Reuters reports. The IMF is predicting 3.5% global growth in 2017 and 3.6% in 2018.

For the eurozone, it increased GDP growth in 2017 to 1.9% - 0.2 percentage points higher than in April. The IMF estimates slightly more robust growth of 1.7% for next year - 0.1 percentage higher than three months ago.

They are also predicting greater growth in China of 6.7% in 2017 - 0.1% higher than their April forecast. The IMF revised its 2017 prediction for the U.K. as well to 1.7%, a 0.3% increase, and left its 2018 forecast unchanged at 1.5%.

For Japan, they are expecting slightly higher growth this year of 1.3%, compared to their previous prediction of 1.2%. The IMF's forecast for 2018 remains 0.6%.
