People who are knowledgeable about Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are some of the most sought-after employees. According to a study conducted by the portal Ticjob, published by Expansión, the number of this kind of job openings has increased 5% in the third quarter of 2017 compared to the same period in 2016.

Currently, the jobs with the greatest demand in the sector are programmers (24%), followed by consultants (9%), system administrators (7%), support and helpdesk (2%) and software architects (2%). The technologies companies use the most when carrying out their work include Java (21%), Javascript (15%), NET (10%), SAP (8%) and SQL (7%).

In terms of the types of contracts companies offer people with these skills, 71% are indefinite, followed by temporary with 17% and 10% are freelancers. Employees with more than five years of experience are in the greatest demand (40%), but just one point ahead of those that have two to five years of professional experience (39%).

Sectors where these types of jobs are starting to emerge more frequently include banking and finance, the 3D industry, smart cities and video games.
