Presenting Young Social Entrepreneurs in a Talk Show on the Role of Social Entrepreneurs in the Country's Economy Growth

Jakarta, 12 November 2015 - PT Bank Danamon Indonesia, Tbk. (Danamon) today held the awarding ceremony of Danamon Social Entrepreneur Awards (DSEA) 2015 and Bisa! Award 2015 as well as holding a talk show titled 'The Role of Social Entrepreneurs in the Country's Economic Growth.' DSEA is a form of Danamon's appreciation to Indonesia's empowerment heroes who have built sustainable enterprises that managed to overcome the societal challenges in their surrounding communities. Meanwhile, Bisa! Awards 2015 is an annual award to the employees of Danamon and its subsidiaries, Adira Finance and Adira Insurance, who have shown corporate values and service excellence.

As announced in the awarding ceremony of Danamon Social Entrepreneur Awards 2015, the Indonesian public has chosen Fajri Mulya Iresha, who empowered waste collectors and marginalized residents of Depok, West Java, through a waste collection enterprise, as the Favorite Recipient from the five recipients of DSEA 2015. The selection process of the Favorite Recipient was conducted through online voting via the official website and social media accounts of DSEA 2015 from 5 October to 1 November 2015.

Fajri Mulya Iresha was entitled to IDR 50 million in cash, while the four other recipients received IDR 30 million each. Each of the recipients received a medal and an award certificate. The four others DSEA 2015 recipients who are selected by the Juries are Ahmed Tessario, Ni Kadek Eka Citrawati, Putu Gede Asnawa Dikta, and Yayah Muslihah.

For Bisa! Award 2015, Yasthi Narieswari, Operation Head - Adira Finance Madiun, was chosen as the First Recipient in the General Category. I Gusti Ayu Putu Jayanthi Prihartini, Business Manager, Danamon Denpasar Gajah Mada, was chosen as First Recipient in the Service Excellence Category.

In addition to announcing the award recipients of DSEA and Bisa! Award 2015, Danamon also held a talk show titled 'The Role of Social Entrepreneurs in the Country's Economic Growth,' which featured Rhenald Kasali, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Economic Studies, University of Indonesia and Haris Purnawan, recipient of Danamon Social Entrepreneur Awards 2014. The talk show, among others, discussed the positive impacts of young entrepreneurs in their efforts to overcome socio-economic challenges in their environment.

The DSEA 2015 Juries are composed of Rhenald Kasali, Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Economic Studies, University of Indonesia; Choirul Djamhari, Deputy Minister of Financing of the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs; Usman Kansong, Editorial Director of Media Indonesia; Nadine Zamira Sjarif, Miss Earth Indonesia 2009; and Ketut Alam Wangsa Wijaya, Business Performance & Alignment Head of Danamon Simpan Pinjam.
