Every year the Emerson Global Users Exchange attracts more than 3,000 attendees who are treated to hundreds of technical sessions, product roadmap presentations, technology exhibits and expert sessions. At this year's conference in Grapevine, Texas, Barco teamed up with Emerson Process Management to showcase its latest networked visualization solutions for the oil & gas and process industries. As a technology partner, Barco participated in the iOps (Intelligent Operations) booth, demonstrating how its high-resolution video walls, powered by Barco's collaborative networked visualization technology for control rooms, are empowering users to improve decision-making while minimizing risk in their plant automation processes - not just inside a single control room, but also within multiple remote control rooms.

In addition, Suchit Rout, Global Strategic Marketing Manager for Barco and Mike Boudreaux, Director of Business Development Process Systems & Solutions for Emerson co-presented on the topic of "Integrated Operations for Improved Collaboration."  They demonstrated through use cases how the Emerson iOps platform, equipped with Barco's collaborative networked visualization technology, can help oil & gas and process companies improve uptime, reduce maintenance costs and decrease the number of trips to the platforms by facilitating information-sharing.

"As collaboration technologies have evolved from displaying a common operational picture, to achieving shared situational awareness and distributed decision-making, we are on the forefront of the trend toward full immersive collaboration. Emerson and Barco offer the combined expertise and solutions to enhance knowledge-sharing to meet the needs of today's oil & gas and process control industries," comments Boudreaux.

"By building tools for improving collaboration into the initial control room design, companies can provide secure access to the right information at the right time to more individuals to fuel better decision-making and faster action. This is even possible when the decision-making process is distributed in nature across various geographies, thanks to Barco's inter-control room collaboration capabilities that push any situational awareness perspective to any connected control room" comments Rout.

Emerson is rolling out Barco's collaborative networked visualization platform in multiple iOps centers across the globe.
