Five years ago, at ISE 2011, we launched a three-chip DLP 3D projector: the HDX-W14. Equipped with advanced image processing, increased and easy control options, and sporting an amazingly compact design, the product was an instant hit. Four models, thousands of sold units worldwide, and countless implementations later, it's time to shed some light on the HDX's success story.

An experienced powerhouse

The development of the HDX range was heavily influenced by three key areas where Barco already gained considerable expertise: 3D, digital cinema and substantial experience in the events industry. Its incredible features partly explain why the HDX-W14 - and its younger siblings, the HDX-W12, HDX-W18, and HDX-W20 FLEX- quickly became a favorite for event organizers all over the world.

Painting with light

But the real charm of Barco's HDX series can't be discerned from the specs: you just have to see it with your own eyes. On our references page, you will find no fewer than 51 references. Some highlights include the Nobel Peace Prize concert in 2012, Eurovision 2014 and, of course, the 1.17 million-lumen spectacle on the Hoover Dam. Each of them is a perfect illustration of how HDX helps creative minds to bring their vision to life.
