The international trading and service Group, BayWa AG, Munich (Germany), intends to acquire Thegra Tracomex Group, Oosterhout (The Netherlands), through its Dutch agri-trading subsidiary Cefetra B.V. Subject to approval by competition authorities, Cefetra will purchase five companies held by Thegra Tracomex Holding. The acquisition is part of BayWa Agri Supply & Trade (BAST) business unit. Thegra Tracomex Group has trading offices in The Netherlands, Belgium and Poland, trading various niche commodities as well as organic commodities like barley, oats and pulses as well as by-products.

'As part of the specialization strategy for our agri-trading division we are extending our functional activity with specialty products to diversify our overall portfolio', said Klaus Josef Lutz, Chief Executive Officer of BayWa AG. Complementary to BayWa's trading activity with main crops like, wheat, soy or maize, 'Thegra Tracomex offers the opportunity to enhance the Groups existing product portfolio within Europe and with a global reach', added Lutz.

CEO of Thegra Tracomex Group Jan Willem Baas noted that 'this is a strategic partnership which will give the companies access to a large and professional network with additional market information and insights. To become a member of the BayWa Group gives us the possibility for further growth and secure our future, this will for sure be beneficial for all our relations'.

CEO of Cefetra, Daan Vriens, states that the purchase of the companies underlines the ambition of Cefetra to further diversify their portfolio. 'This purchase will give us more insights and access into certain 'niche' and 'organic' markets and it also strengthens our market position as a full line supplier towards the feed, food and fuel industry', said Vriens.

Thegra Tracomex Group is formed by the trading companies Thegra Tracomex, Thenergy, Thegra Poland, Biocore and Riveka with offices in The Netherlands, Belgium and Poland.
