BioSolar, Inc. (OTCBB: BSRC), developer of a breakthrough technology to produce bio-based materials from renewable plant sources that reduce the cost of photovoltaic (PV) solar modules, today announced that the company recently entered into a sales agreement with Tomark Industries. Tomark, a specialist in the field of photovoltaic (PV) packaging solutions, will act as an agent for the distribution of BioBacksheet.

"Tomark is a recognized authority in the field of PV," commented Dr. David Lee, CEO of BioSolar. "Tomark typically partners with reputable manufacturers to create high value, innovative products. We see them as the ideal partner for the distribution of our PV backsheet products, as well as future products under development."

Tomark's President, Dave Santoleri, explained the synergy between the companies. "The combination of BioSolar's unique green PV component design and innovation capability together with Tomark's extensive background in developing and marketing packaging solutions for the PV market will allow our team to service the PV industry as a significant supplier."

BioSolar's BioBacksheet is the world's first UL certified solar panel backsheet made from renewable materials and features two distinct benefits that are unmatched by existing backsheets. First, BioBacksheet's high thermal conductivity rapidly draws heat away from the solar cells, which can increase the power output of the entire solar panel. Second, BioBacksheet's USDA BioPreferred Certification allows solar panels to be marketed as more sustainable and socially responsible.

To drive its costs even lower and seize this unique market opportunity, BioSolar recently revised its strategic plan and entered into additional strategic partnerships with manufacturers capable of producing and delivering BioBacksheet in large volume at low cost. In addition to its North American customers, who are already pursuing panel level UL certification their solar panels with BioBacksheet, BioSolar is accelerating its selling efforts to Asian solar manufacturers.
