Sidney, Neb. - Aug. 17, 2016 - Black Hills Energy is pleased to announce that Michael Schmidt has joined the company as an operations supervisor for western Nebraska, based in Sidney. Schmidt will lead Black Hills Energy's natural gas operations in Broadwater, Chappell, Dalton, Gurley, Kimball, Lewellen, Lisco, Lodgepole, Oshkosh and Sidney.

Schmidt is a native of the Sidney and Cheyenne County, Nebraska, area and brings with him more than 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He previously was a serviceman in the Sidney area for Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas, a Black Hills Energy predecessor. He is returning to Sidney from San Angelo, Texas, where he worked in the oil and gas industry.

'Michael's experience and commitment to safety will serve Black Hills Energy's customers and the community well,' said Scott Borders, Black Hills Energy's natural gas operations manager for western Nebraska. Black Hills Energy provides energy to nearly 300,000 customers in 296 Nebraska communities.
